The deadlines are fast approaching for a number of upcoming conferences. I&#8217;ve got my eye on three right now:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h6>The International Association for the Study of Popular Music US Branch (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.iaspm-us.net\/\">IASPM-US<\/a>) is holding their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iaspm-us.net\/conferences\/\">annual conference<\/a> in New Orleans next year. (April 9-11, 2010)<\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h6>The Experience Music Project\/Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame in Seattle (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.empsfm.org\/\">EMP\/SFM<\/a>) will be holding a conference entitled &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.empsfm.org\/education\/index.asp?categoryID=26\">The Pop Machine: Music and Technology<\/a>.&#8221; (April 15-18, 2010)<\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h6>The Steinhardt School&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/steinhardt.nyu.edu\/music\/\">Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions<\/a> at NYU will be holding their <a href=\"http:\/\/steinhardt.nyu.edu\/music\/scoring\/conference\">annual Music and the Moving Image conference<\/a>. (May 21-23, 2010)<\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been working on a couple of abstracts and am getting close to final drafts. It&#8217;s a tough process: coming up with a topic and then following through with devising an argument for a paper not yet written!
